In the early 1960’s some forward thinking individuals in Langley felt there was a need for a local Little Britches Rodeo. The first rodeos were held at a location just behind the Langley Secondary School site. In the late 1960’s the present arena location was purchased and the Little Britches Rodeo has been held there ever since.
We start our young rodeo stars out with sheep riding at 2 years of age, and as their love for rodeo grows, many have gone on to become rodeo champions in the Amateur and Professional ranks. Rodeo teaches our youth how to train and handle a horse in a fast-paced environment, as well as how to be a good sport. Many life-long friendships started in our rodeo arena.
This year our rodeo will be held on June 19 – 21, with Team Roping Friday night and a full day of rodeo on Saturday and Sunday. Come early on Saturday to watch the rodeo and stay for the beef barbecue and Barrel Racing on Saturday evening. For more information call 604-530-5981 or 604-607-1119.
