Who We Are

The Langley Riders Society (started in 1965)
is a non-profit organization which is located in Langley, British Columbia.

Our Society relies on our volunteers who provide an opportunity for people of all ages to get together to share their mutual interest in horses.   We provide a fun, learning, practice environment in which both children and adults get together to participate in several multi-disciplinary riding events and shows.

Our outdoor riding facility is located at 4303 208th Street, Langley, B.C.

Langley Riders is a family club operated by and with volunteers who are part of the club. We have many different varieties of horses and riders. Some come to show for the first time, some to school their new or young horses, some come out to just have fun and some are very serious. No matter why you come out everyone is welcome!

Dedication to John and Merlyn Scotton

August this year marks a very special anniversary at Langley Riders. 50 years ago, a young family moved onto the current grounds as it transitioned from a landfill site to a livable property, creating a homestead and the future home of Langley Riders. They raised their young family on the grounds, watching them grow and raise their own families They have been the keepers of the grounds, watching as they were built, from the first arena to the concession stand; they have had a helping hand in each and every nail, pipe, and rock was placed, shaping the facility as it is today. Through thick and thin, they have continued to be at the heart of Langley Riders ever since day one!

This year we celebrate 50 Years of Service with John and Merlyn Scotton. They have done so much for LRS and have been the true heart of the organization for many, many years. No matter what they have protected and led this organization, ensuring its longevity no matter what. There is no amount of thanks we could give that would equate what they have given over the years to LRS. In an attempt to show them just how they are appreciated, with the support of the Langley Riders and Equestrian community, past and present, they are being sent on an all expenses paid trip to the Canadian Finals Rodeo. They will be up close to all the action to watch Canada’s finest Cowboys and Cowgirls compete for the top. To help keep them warm in Edmonton, they were gifted custom embroidered jackets, in partnership with our sponsors, celebrating this amazing achievement.

There are so many individuals who came together to make this happen, and we are very thankful to each and everyone who has helped make this happen and help to pull off this surprise!

We wish John and Merlyn the best time on their trip and hope they enjoy every moment!
